Confused with further studies, please help

hello all,
I am a third year student of Information Science engineering from VTU, Karnataka. After completing the course, I would like to pursue a career in Embedded Systems. So, I am planning to join for some embedded training now since that is not a part of my curriculum. Would it be a right decision?

I'm kinda confused with the fact that when it comes to an interview, will an EC graduate have some advantage over me. but, i am very must interested in that and very confident that i can perform well.

any suggestion would be of great help!
