Well don't spit back a number, You just have to ask a question: "What is the range your budget allows for this position?". Then you should drop yourself into that range accordingly. It is my personal experience that if you like what you do, the money will atomically come.

Post your maximum resumes at different job places.
Your resumes must be powerful that they attract the people.
post your c.v anywhere possible.
Do not avoid any job opportunity.
Negotiate at salary, and try to approach your desired amount.
Do not run after first chance.
Wait for the best opportunity.
see the environment and choose which suits you the best.
Do not negotiate much, if the other person gets bothered.
Take your last decision very calmly.
